What does this mean? It means we’ll be avoiding having PodCamp NYC overlap with other events in the North East or the BlogWorld Expo. Those of you traveling from out of town can relax about booking plane, train or bus tickets. We expect to have something to announce soon. If you’re still interested in attending an unConference in NYC this spring, you can attend Laid Off Camp at the beginning of May or BarCamp NYC 4 at NYU ITP at the end of May.

New York City is beautiful in the fall, and we expect to announce a fall date soon. If you follow us on Twitter (@podcampnyc) and subscribe to the PodCamp NYC RSS feed you’ll be the first to know when PodCamp NYC 3 will be held.

It's been long overdue, but PodCampNYC.org is back. As of this posting, we don't have a date or a location. What we have is a dedicated team of great people who are working hard to make this year's Podcamp NYC the biggest and best it can be. We will eventually be adding the archives from the previous two PodCamp NYC events, but we felt it was more important to get a website up as soon as we could.

It’s been long overdue, but PodCampNYC.org is back. As of this posting, we don’t have a date or a location. What we have is a dedicated team of great people who are working hard to make this year’s Podcamp NYC the biggest and best it can be. We will eventually be adding the archives from the previous two PodCamp NYC events, but we felt it was more important to get a website up as soon as we could. Expect to see some changes and announcements on the site really soon.

What is Podcamp NYC?
PodCamp has been held twice in New York City- the first at the New Yorker Hotel, and last year at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn. Registration for the conference have in the past topped 1,000 attendees, actual attendance has been between 500 and 700 people over the course of the two day events.

What is Podcamp?
PodCamp is a community driven new and emerging media conference. The first PodCamp was held in Boston on September 5 & 6, 2006. Since that time, the idea has spread quickly, with over 56 Podcamps having been hosted to date, in locations all over the US and the world, including Singapore, Germany, Australia, South Africa and Brazil. Podcamp has evolved to include emerging technologies, marketing and social media topics as well as the original podcasting, blogging and video-podcasting focus.

PodCamp isn’t just about podcasting! If you’re interested in blogging, social media, social networking, podcasting, video on the net, if you’re a podsafe musician (or want to be), or just someone curious about new media, then please join us — and bring a friend or colleague.

To get an idea of what happens at a Podcamp and what the sessions are about, you can look at the sessions from last year’s event. Here is Friday’s schedule and Saturday’s schedule. You can find more at the PodCamp website at podcamp.org to see links to all of the other PodCamp events that have already taken place.
